Ingredients
- 500 g semi-coarse flour
- 125 ml lukewarm milk
- 125 ml lukewarm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 whole egg
- 2 tbsp oil
- 21 g yeast
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
Instructions
- In a measuring cup, measure 125 ml water and 125 ml milk. Heat it in the microwave. Pour 50 ml into a small bowl, add yeast and 1 tsp sugar. Let the starter rise.
- Sift the flour with 1 tsp salt.
- After 10 minutes, the starter has risen.
- Stir 1 whole egg and 2 tbsp oil into the remaining water with milk. Pour it into the flour, add the risen starter.
- Roughly mix the dough so that the liquid combines with the flour. Let it stand for about 10 minutes.
- Only now knead the dough. It's easy. Flour the kneaded dough, close the dough rising bowl, and let the dough rise until it doubles in size.
- Divide the dough in half - as you can see, I don't have a good estimate, form the dumplings. Let them rise for another 10 minutes.
- While the dumpling is rising, prepare a pot with water and place a steamer basket in it. Place baking paper on the steamer basket. This is so that the dumpling doesn't stick to the steamer.
- Bring about 200 ml of water to a boil in the pot. When the water boils, place the dumpling in. Steam it for 20 minutes covered. NEVER remove the lid during steaming, as the dumpling would collapse. After 20 minutes of steaming, remove the lid and poke the dumpling with a skewer while it's still on the steamer.
- If we are going to eat it immediately after cooking, I do not brush it with oil. I only brush the remaining one with oil.
